The Museum of Chalosse

Thirty years ago, on an old homestead called Carcher was settled the Museum of Chalosse. This museum preserves the identity of Chalosse, a territory with its own specificities within the Landes Department.

In a site of greenery, the Museum of Chalosse reveals itself into a real farming homestead from the 19^th century and through traditional housing, farmings tools, old furnitures, technics and ancient expertises…

Everything is precisely put together and refurbished to give you the impression that someone still lives in here: the master’s house preciously replenished, the cellar with a surprising and very big wine press, the conservatory of the grapes varieties, the bakery still running, the house and the garden of the sharecropper, the livestock…

Discover with your whole family an authentic and welcoming place just as much as the Chalosse land is generous, delicious and festive!

The Museum of Chalosse is a service of the Community of communes “Lands of Chalosse”

It received the label 'Musée de France'.
