Exhibition : Agnès Varda, un regard libre
Photographer, filmmaker and visual artist, Agnès Varda (1928–2019) occupies a unique place in the collective imagination. Through her multifaceted body of work, she explores the world with curiosity and sensitivity, casting a gaze that is at once free, human, committed and poetic upon the societies she encounters.
With this exhibition, the Museum of Chalosse sheds light on themes dear to Agnès Varda: the act of gleaning, the observation of everyday life, and the celebration of regions and their inhabitants, who are often regarded as humble or invisible.
The artist’s world thus resonates with the museum’s mission, which celebrates local histories, traditional skills and human landscapes.
Exhibition organised in collaboration with Rosalie Varda and the entire Ciné-Tamaris team.
